Shop Dresses HERE I’m really excited to release the first ANAGRASSIA manufactured product: THE DARIA DRESS! The dresses were made in Chicago, IL and South Bend, IN. Thank you to everyone who worked with me on this project! You all were all incredible and so patient! The DARIA dress is a modern take on a dress my Babcha created and designed over 50 years ago for my mom (who happens to be named Daria !), which was then passed on to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Not only is this dress undeniably cute, but because of its bohemian style, it can be worn throughout the course of several years as a dress...

Baby Shower Gift: 12 Vests for Each Month of the First Year

Can you remember a childhood fashion mistake? Not that it was a real mistake, because you did mean to wear it. But rather something so badly put together you wish your mother would have stopped you before you got out the door.  I can certainly remember mine – and my sister Tess’. My sister really liked to wear vests. There was a period of time when she would always wear handmade holiday vests (which my mom made her). She literally had a drawer full of different cotton vests for each season/holiday of the year. So when it was time to make something for Tess’ baby shower gift, I knew exactly...

Yellow & Gray Baby Crib Bumpers for Standard Sized Crib

Phew! Just in time! After 8 hours of cutting, pinning, basting, and sewing, I finished the baby bumpers just before the birth of my first niece/nephew! (My sister is keeping the gender and name a surprise. Hence the yellow and gray baby room colors!) My sister searched for crib bumpers online and in stores, but the bumpers she found and liked were around $200. So (of course), she comes running to me for my services! My sisters and I all have artistic talents, so we usually barter between one another. With this particular sister, she is a talented painter and photographer and therefore in exchange for these bumpers, she offered...

Gifts: Floral Silk Scarf and Block M Genuine Leather Purses

One of my favorite scarves is acrylic. However if I wear it for too long, it makes me sweat and agitates my skin. So when I was out shopping for gifts (in particular scarfs), I searched for ones made of natural fabrics, but they were difficult to find. It’s a shame because there were some scarfs with beautiful design! So instead, I bought some silk and made the scarfs myself! I hand stitched all the edges, so it took a bit of time. But it made the gift that much more special and worth the extra time! The block M purses were last-minute projects for friends before I left for an...

The Housecoat for the New Modern Housewife By Marusya

Did I mention that during the wedding prep & August sewing madness- I was sewing a housecoat for my sister?! When Kate and I went fabric shopping for her bridal gown, we found this fabric in the clearance section! We both fell in love with it! The floral striped fabric design looked SOOO much like our pillow cases growing up! Weeks prior to her wedding, Kate had a bridal shower. So instead of making her a silk night gown (as originally planned), I built her a housecoat with this fabric! Originally I planned to use one of my babcha’s vintage patterns, but unfortunately there wasn’t enough fabric. So ultimately, I chose...
